New Fire Department Program White Lake Township Fire Department has started a new program to gain safe non-destructive access to township citizens who are at risk for falls, or who have chronic medical problems. The program is designed to give firefighters non-destructive access to citizens who may need assistance, but are unable to get to the door to let firefighters into the home. The department will issue to citizen's who qualify a secure way of storing a key outside their home that only White Lake Township firefighters will have access to. This program will eliminate the need for firefighters to force a locked door or break a locked window when attempting to gain access to citizens who have activated an emergency response and cannot for whatever reason get to the door to let emergency responders in.
